In this one day course, you will learn how to weave using recycled sari silk yarns and ribbon - things which are about to be thrown away, but can be turned into something lovely.

You can make a beautiful silk purse, which can be used as a phone or glasses pouch, make-up bag, or even to hold money. It will be lined with silk and fastened with a zip or buttons. It makes a lovely gift, but you'd probably want to keep it!

Suitable for complete beginners and experienced weavers.

We start the morning seeing examples of items, woven by the tutor, using similar materials and then you will be taught how to put the warp on a simple frame loom, and how to use a stick shuttle and pick-up stick, to begin weaving.

After a break for lunch we will carry on weaving using all sorts of colourful threads and ribbons, experimenting and having fun.
