Amanda is a self-taught origami artist who found origami at a stressful time. Focussing on traditional Japanese models at first, it started as a form of mindfulness and became a passion! By continuing her practice of folding paper flowers, plants and decorative pieces, she’s developed several of her own origami designs and created a business selling origami blooms online, in gift shops and at art fairs.

This beginners, half day workshop has been developed to provide a quiet day of creativity and gentle tuition and we hope you will leave with a desire to learn more. In the class, students will learn to fold two traditional origami flowers. Colourful recycled paper and other materials will be provided. Once you master the techniques, you will be able to create a beautiful bouquet for your home or to give to a loved one.

Workshop participants will be given a brief introduction to origami with a little of its history and diversity. You will then be guided through the development of your folded sculpture and at the end of the day taking home your finished items.

The course focus is always on fun and friendly creativity with lots of personal tuition from an experienced Origami Artist.

FOOD: Hot and cold refreshments will be provided throughout the class. Alternatively the shop is situated next to the wonderful Mulberry Tree Cafe where you can purchase delicious food at reasonable prices.

All materials and tools will be provided for each student and are included in the course price.
