Gel printing is a form of mono-printing in which a gel plate is used in conjunction with acrylic paint and various tools to create prints directly off the plate. The gel plate is made from a non-toxic synthetic gelatin that contains mineral oil and is actually vegan friendly! Gel printing is a very simple and an extremely addictive craft technique – so be warned!

During this workshop, Faye will demonstrate and teach you how to use a variety of mark making tools and techniques to create mono-prints full of colour and amazing textures. Every pull (print) is unique which means that no resulting print will ever be the same as the one before, which makes it an exciting process to try and honestly once you start, you won’t want to stop!

By the end of the session, you will have created a stack of beautiful prints and Faye will help you to produce some stunning greetings cards with a few of them and inspire you with other ideas on how to use your prints in your own projects at home. 

The session can get a little messy so to be on the safe side it would be advisable to wear old clothes, an old shirt or an apron just in case. Disposable gloves and handwipes will also be provided.

The workshop is run in a well lit and ventilated environment with plenty of table space. All tools and materials/equipment are provided, and you will be given clear and simple instructions and demonstrations on how to do this incredibly creative and effective craft.

This is a fun and creative workshop and Faye is an experienced, friendly and enthusiastic tutor!

 FOOD: Hot and cold refreshments will be provided throughout the workshop. Delicious food can be purchased at a reasonable price from the lovely Mulberry Café next door to the shop/ workshop.

The course cost includes materials/equipment and use of tools.
